Frequently Asked Questions
What age do I have to be?
The leaseholder must be 55 years of age.
Can we apply if my spouse/partner qualifies and I don't? What happens if my spouse/partner dies? Can I stay?
A couple may apply as long as the leaseholder meets our qualifications which are available under the Apartment Options section of this website. If the leaseholder dies, his/her spouse/partner may stay at Heron Manor even if he/she does not meet our qualifications, though he/she must be at least 55 years of age.
What happens if my health declines?
If your health declines, Porter Hills or your chosen home health provider will reevaluate your care plan. Porter Hills or your health provider will recommend that you stay at Heron Manor only if they feel that their range of services is able to appropriately and safety match your individual needs. More information on Plus Care by Porter Hills is available under the Health Services section of this website.
